      >>Do people in europe consider international law to supersede their own national laws? <<

Well, the French sure don't. Heck, they have a reputation for not even living up to EU trade laws they previously agreed to, e.g., Mutton from England, VCRs from Japan, etc.

      >>Mule is prone to wild statements... He must have bed sores on his ass from sitting at the computer all day.<<

Yeah, but it's the sores on the other side that hinder successfully obtaining female favors.

    • I would like ot share your optimism about the reunion, but as long as "Elvis" is in charge in the North I don't see that happening. I'm also not sure that S. Korea (or anybody) is ready to take on the responsibility of modernizing N. Korea once the reunion is accomplished. It will likely take alot more time, money and resources than it did to put Germany back together again.

    • "Au Contrair (I probably called you a toaster)
Mon Ami" (some kind of kitchen cleaner?)
he continued in his horrible psuedo-French.

Complaining is easy. Take for example the best job in the world, the housewife. In what other occupation do you work on your own schedule and have an inherent right to complain about everybody else in the household.

If I come home from a long day of work for example, and spill a crumb on the floor over dinner, I am lambasted with, "I worked so hard to clean all day and look what you do."
There is no way to escape, and no effective retort. They see and know everything and are waiting for the opportunity for you to make any mistake.

Probably one of the reasons that women outlive men - must be very theraputic to be able to relieve your angst through constant complaining.

You will probably live to be 140 at the rate you are going.

    • My prediction is that Korea will be united, in the not too distant future, and the US expelled from the country. As happened with Vietnam. Let's hope the US isn't so dumb it tries to stop another people from reunion by military means.

    • Yeah but lots of people apparently don't have the courage or guts to do so (complain).

    • I am actually happy about the Chinese that froze. Had they eaten Kim Chee they might have lived and killed my father who was one of the soldiers getting pushed back to Puson. Was not a pretty war. I visited the war memorial last time I was there which lists all of allied troops killed there (not just Americans). North Korea will not be allowed to blackmail the world.

    • Nobody is looking for a body count. War comes with a price, but this was the most concentrated effort ever to avoid unnecessary casualties, both military and civilian. Embedded reporters would have been quick to condemn atrocities on the allied side. I'm sure you are aware of the stories coming out of how Saddam (mis)treated his own people far worse than anything that happened during this brief conflict.

    • It is easy to complain. I'm glad you are enjoying the freedoms that other people are earning for you.

    • Ah yes, but I thought it was the Koreans who ate kimchee, not the Chinese. And I wouldn't be so happy about the Chinese who froze; they overwhelmed the Americans and shoved them back to the line that exists today. The US army collapsed and ran when the Chinese entered the battle. To Mac's great surprise.
