Iran said it could defeat any American military action over its controversial nuclear drive, in one of the Islamic regime's boldest challenges yet to the United States.
"You can start a war but it won't be you who finishes it," said General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the head of the Revolutionary Guards and among the regime's most powerful figures.
"The Americans know better than anyone that their troops in the region and in Iraq are vulnerable. I would advise them not to commit such a strategic error," he told reporters on the sidelines of a pro-Palestinian conference in Tehran.
The United States accuses Iran of using an atomic energy drive as a mask for weapons development. Last weekend US news reports said President George W. Bush's administration was refining plans for preventive strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.
"I would advise them to first get out of their quagmire in Iraq before getting into an even bigger one," General Safavi said with a grin.
"We have American forces in the region under total surveillance. For the past two years, we have been ready for any scenario, whether sanctions or an attack."
The U.S. cannot be everywhere. There ARE priorities. There's no other way that it could be.
Right, but don't forget we have to teach all them there Muslims a lesson with a whippin'.
We have no priorities. That calls for complex thinking which the present administration is incapable of at this time.Example is Iran.We left the diplomacy in the hands of the E.U.Now Iran is weeks away from a bomb.We ignored N.Korea, now they have nukes. If Jr. has any priorities,he better start letting the rest of us know what they are.
We wish we had Clinton's economy.Hugh growth,no debt.We gave back a trillion and a half bucks to people to buy cheap goods from China. That lasted about six months, then the benefits of the tax cuts went ot the rich's bank account, not the economy.with oil at 70$, 4 trillion in debt(estimate)the economy has reached a peak.it will be downhill from here.1% interest rates saved this economy, not tax cuts.they only exacerbated the deficit..wake up.
"We have no priorities."
Yes, we do.
You can see who is number 2, it's Russia. That's why it's a good idea to buy Russian stocks via TRF, CEE, or RNE.
We have to teach the radical Muslims that with their philosophy on how meaningless life is on earth, they cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons and they cannot be allowed to invade peaceful nations or breach cease-fires.
They have to know especially after 9/11 that they are considered to be the primary impediment to world peace and that they are on a very short leash.
Along those lines we can make them convert to Christianity or Judism and if they won't convert we can burn them at the stake, right?

He would be hoping for another round of rally around the flag, and support your incumbant war mongers. It would matter not to him how many were killed, his sense of rightousness would in some perverse way be nurtured.
