Larkish posters have apparently forgotten some of my 2008 handles

    Such as:

You are completely wasting your time. When I say I won't budge, I really mean it. I don't think any of you know just how stubborn I can be.

    • What is it that I'm supposed to know about Methodists that I don't?

Regarding Mormons, what I know is that I'd like to see a lot LESS of them. The missionaries seem to knock on my door far more often than I would expect. Do they really think that as one of the Chosen Ones I'm some kind of prime candidate to convert?

    • It is rather amazing. Too stupid to understand what happens to the far left vote without supporting gay causes and then spews the nonsense about the size of Catholic families. It seems he knows nothing about Methodists or Mormons.

If you are looking for pure ignorance in all subjects, you have found it with Chartwit.

    • If it's lesbians you are looking for, I can sure tell you where to find them. In the world of tournament bridge.

I was as safe from being looked at as a man from most of those women as I was from being the object of attention from the prom queen in high school.

At least half of the women that play tournament bridge have to be lezzies.

      only a quire would recognize them,like you,LOL.

    • Having money can be a curse. Absolutely the worst fear of my wealthy aunt was that a good-for-nothing gold-digger would entice one of us to the altar and come into gobs of the hard-earned, lifetime earnings after she had left the money to us.

    • I didn't even mention the fact that 13% of Brits have at one time or another had same-sex contact. However, 6% of Brits do admit to being gay, lesbian or bi. Do you think that 3/4 of them would lie about a thing like that - especially in the direction of being in the distinct minority?

If people say that they are actually gay, lesbian or bi (as opposed to having just had perhaps one or two same-sex encounters), I would have to assume that they indeed are genetically gay. Why would I have reason to doubt them?

Why conduct surveys at all if 6% are going to willingly admit to something that only 1.5% of them actually are?

    • Do you really not understand how surveys are conducted, besides all the cultural differences?

The issue was what percent of humans are genetically homosexual, not how many at one time or another might have had sexual feelings for a member of the same sex.

    • Here is an excerpt from that article:

while only 6% of Britons define their sexual orientation as homosexual or bisexual, more than twice that number (13%) of Britons have had some form of sexual contact with someone of the same sex.[18]

In the UK, the UK Office for National Statistics survey have come up with the figure that 1.5% are gay or bi-sexual, and suggest that this is in line with other surveys showing between 0.3% and 3%.

You don't know just how much confidence this gives me regarding the accuracy of the UK's National Statistics Service.

6% of Brits themselves admit to being gay or bi but in its infinite wisdom, the Stats Service says that only 1.5% are.

Who spits out the numbers for them - hotpanera2?

    • 2% to 3% just wouldn't be worth all the time and effort - attending Gay Pride parades, espousing gay and lesbian causes and such. THAT much effort needs to manifest itself in solid VOTES - and a helluva lot more than 2% or 3%.

These days, the "breeders" don't do all that badly with expansion of the Earned Income credit, the extra exemptions, etc. If the wife is a good cook and knows how to shop wisely, it doesn't cost much more to cook for six than for five, etc.

As for college and such, there are student loans you wouldn't believe these days. It's not like every parent springs for a 100K a year Ivy-League education.

I don't know a lot of Catholics and among the Protestants, about five is the largest number of kids that any of my friends or acquaintances have and only one of them has even that number. Two or three is the most common and generally that won't break the bank - especially when both spouses work.

    • Can you possibly be such a statistical stupe as not to realize that homosexuals aren't randomly distributed across the US?
