These have been the big down sessions of 50 cents or more for Pfizer the last three months and what happened near-term thereafter:Apr 21: Down 2.9% or 60 cents to $19.79. That was the low.May 03: Down 2.8% or 58 cents to $20.44. The low was a nickel lower two sessions later.Jun 10: Down 3.1% or 64 cents to $20.11. That was the low.Jun 24: Down 2.8% or 57 cents to $20.08. That was the low.Jul 07: Down 2.6% or 55 cents to $20.23. PFE is only down a few cents today with the Dow off by 140.
In most of those declines, the RSI bottomed out between 38 and 45. When there is no bear market raging, the low 40 area in the RSI seems to be prime buying territory. Only in bear markets or very serious corrective phases does RSI seem to go much lower than that.
RSI varies tremendously over time. I don't see how anyone can just blithely assign a number and say that that is Pfizer's RSI.
