Even Boehner can't bring GOP House extremists into line
Imagine not even being able to pass a bill calling for spending cuts and tax hikes only on those earning $1M or more a year. The failure to be able to lead his caucus could well cost him his Speakership when the new Congress convenes in early January. What good is it if he and Ob ama eventually reach an agreement if he cannot deliver the votes when the time comes? Just his saying yes isn't enough at all - he has to be able to get the votes out of his members and apparently there are just too many right-wing extremists in the House. I fear that this fiscal cliff problem is going to be tougher than most analysts think.
If Boehner gets booted out of his job, who else is going to be able to whip this rabble into line? I had previously been a die-hard Republican but this year they have really lost their way.
