So, Pfe earnings missed expectations- profit ONLY up 53% And expectations lower for 2013 They probably lowered expect. because the next quarter will be a BLOWOUT . Grear company and Great div. LOVE IT I hope to get in on dip but I don't think it will stay low.
ooopss .. i more key item .. PFE will most likely split itself ... take a look at what other pharma's have done
with their spinoffs .. might be a good idea to consider buying the generic unit that will most likely be spun
off .. i missed a big one when BMY did same .... again .. PFE is now under my microscope ... fwiw .. garce
a few years ago , when i started to build a new portfolio , based on high divs , i looked for pharma ... wound
up buying BMY, glad it did .. my decision came down to BMY and PFE .... I want to put more to work in pharma
and this could be an excellent opportunity ...
PFE and rest of big pharma have been / are transisiting from a development model that had been around
for decades ...
these turns take time and can make a company look like a shipwreck (IBM went through same in the
early 90's ... now up about 2500% since .. i expect that the better run pharm'as will do same ...
no telling where the bottom will be , don't try to pick it ... i';ll have my finger on this trigger and expect to
get in to PFE sometime over the next month or so .. might have to margin a bit , cause cash is low , but
the div will take care of the margin expense pretty much ... later and good luck ... garce
It's to Pfizer's advantage to keep the share price low as they are currently buying back tons of their stock. Why should management do everything in its power to maintain a high price when they're in the midst of spending billions of dollars lessening their number of shares? Just a thought.
why not use that cash to either discover great molecules, or buy them ?
share buybacks for blue chips are notoriously dumb and should ONLY be done during market crashes, not as a way of life
PFE still riding on the back of penicillin glory....pathetic.
