have you actually received the shares or have you just been informed that you inherited the shares?
if you already have the shares, you won't be getting any zts shares, but if the estate hasn't yet been distributed then it's a question as to how your benefactor (or the executor) may have handled the matter before the distribution.
it's too bad hotpanera isn't still around to give you a more definitive answer.
If you want the shares you will have to buy them. If it fit my current investment style, I would buy it. 65% of its sales are livestock and 35% companion animals, a good mix. It has a great global position selling products to 120 countries. It has over 300 products. A projected EPS growth rate of about 15% easily justifies a PE in the 20 area. The payout ration is low at about 20%. If you want growth, I believe it is a good bet. At 72, I am more into dividend payers so I won't be buying.
