how it works, I don't follow up on spam, the
theory being that it isn't there for the benefit of the
reader, so much as for the benefit of the writer. The
sign up may be free, but what kind of come-ons you
will encounter after that is anyone's guess. Some of
these sites get advertising revenue from the number of
subscribers they have, so it may not cost you anything (like
Yahoo). Even if you don't have to give your credit card
number, you may get all kinds of e.mails from them once
they have your info. If you can put up with that then
there may be some value in it.
There is a message
board at http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/
which has a message board like this and it's free of
spam because posters have to pay to post messages. You
can read them without paying, but you have to pay to
write. There are some smart people over there but
remember it's still an investors opinion and therefore
subject to bias. Good luck
