For both ALNY and SIRNA, however to cover your bases on RNAi, you need to go long on Benitec too. This company is listed on the ASX (Australian stock exchange) and has the key patents for ddRNAi. That is, delivery of RNAi via DNA. This technology allows RNAi to be delivered by viruses like adenovirus, lentivirus, adeno-associated virus. This delivery approach may prove more useful for long term suppression of gene expression. Its hard to tell thouugh at this point. The fact of the matter however is that to cover all players in the RNAi field you need to cover:
ALNY RNAI BLT (ASX)
There is another small (Nasdaq listed) company based in LA I believe doing some RNAi work however they are mere licensees of the main patents. I forget there name. I remember doing some research and found the pricipals to be in there 70s and the stock has been around for 20 years with little movement. They seem to have only recently changed direction into RNAi.
All good news today though. RNAI stock I hold up 20 odd percent today. ALNY up slightly after VEGF presentation.
