Gary couldn't dump his shares fast enough...

He took his exercised option shares and dumped them on the market like a pile of dung. All for a lousy hundred grand profit. His actions are a clear vote of no-confidence in LUV which will suffer in this environment hedge or no-hedge.

Ridiculous. If you don't exercise your options, they would never have any value. That's the point of getting them in the first place. If you want a stock related indicator of a company's belief in its future, look a which company's are buying back their own stock (SWA) and which ones aren't (everyone else).

    • He took his exercised option shares and dumped them on the market like a pile of dung.

Let's see...according to your numbers, he's got over 545,000 options and he exercised about 35,000 of them. That's a little under 7% -- i.e. pocket change. What's your problem?

    • 'All for a lousy hundred grand profit." You don't make sense. I think just about anyone would like to profit that much.
