    Southwest beats by 3 cents...

Looks like everything starting to come together for a higher strike price over next several months at least....Earnings increasing (wow look at statement about projected synergies earned for 2013 from Airtran). Fuel prices low for high demand summer quarter. The chart on LUV stock prices is trending higher...glta

So, you think SWA doesn't care about its shareholders? It is the most consistently profitable airline in the industry. What do you think about the airlines that have gone bk (some more than once). Now you think SWA is the high cost carrier? It's a simple matter to read the SEC reports on CASM and see that isn't so. If you'd "raise your glass to HK" in the event of a SWA bk, then you're either a SWA stockholder who's a complete moron, or a stockholder in a competing airline--so why would anyone here care.

    • Finally, someone that isn't drinking the Kool Aid of this big trashy commuter, post something with reason, not emotion. LUV has become the worst investment in the airline industry, smart money has been out for a long time. More pain to come. Herb was a drunk.

    • Interesting cut-and-paste response, zero time just post a link to Wikipedia.

    • Southwest Airlines was incorporated in Texas and commenced Customer Service on June 18, 1971, with three Boeing 737 aircraft serving three Texas cities - Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio and grew to become a major airline in 1989 when it exceeded the billion-dollar revenue mark. Southwest topped the monthly domestic originating passenger rankings for the first time in May 2003.
As the United States' most successful low-fare, high frequency, point-to-point carrier, yearend financial results for 2011 marked Southwest's 39th consecutive year of profitability. On May 2, 2011, Southwest acquired Orlando-based AirTran Airways and expects to complete the integration of the two airlines during the next several years.

    • Up SWA beats by $0.03 and the frigging stocks goes down and I loose $1200. I am glad I sold at $9.02.

      Crappy market.
