Running commentary on the stock price/action is meaningless. This company will stand or fall on ACS guidelines acceptance and Medicare application acceptance. I believe '07 has the potential to be a blockbuster year for EXAS.
Here is the 10-K link available on EXAS website. See pages 5-7 (using Word format) for approval status plus a summary of all the studies.
Also remember the stock was around $17 when the results of the $10 million 5,000 patient study was announced. Investors were expecting mid-80% sensitivity but got 52% (57% for early stage). The stock tanked and they did a secondary a few months later around $7.
Significantly, the results of the newest study announced late '06 show the sensitivity level investors were anticipating when the price was $17 yet we are now under $3. Price indicates lack of faith in ability of mgt. to get this into guidelines - due largely to past pumping followed by multiple disappointments. I've been in and out over the years and recently took advantage of the blue light special on the price. Risk vs. reward says it's still cheap. Last year's study showing that docs make mistakes put a little tarnish on the "gold standard" and likely helps our cause. There should be room for this test in the guidelines.
This link will take you to the interview with Exas CEO...really good for our company PR. I was impressed!http://videoplayer.thestreet.com/?clipId=1373_10344937&channel=Exec+Interviews&puc=yahoo&ts=1174089877718

I was watching this stock like a hawk today and it was so strange at one point it was actually up 7 cents a share..at that point I thought there must be some breaking news...then it plummeted to minus 5..I wonder why???Any news I don't know about positive or negative?

It is a very thinly traded stock, and often has 3 and 4 cents between the bid and the ask. Even a mere 1,000 share order can move the stock 5 cents, either way.
It's just the nature of the micro-cap beast!
