The test will be lucky to price out more than 10% above the Occult Blood Stool Test
The reason being it is unable to accurately ascertain the presence of precancerous polyps (60% of them are missed). Therefore, it's just a matter of months or a couple of years and the colonoscopy is inevitable. Most people will just wait unless the price is negligible. Thats my take on it anyway. Hopefully they'll put it in laymans terms in exactly the same manner at the presentation - no jargon or bs, no misleading innuendo, just the reality of it all. So the test didn't produce the results we were hoping for, the test is STILL the best thing out there so far and it does have value (at SOME pricepoint). We may have seen the high in the stock however, that is just MY opinion.
crapn, the Occult Blood Stool Test detects blood in stool. It is helpful only when the cancer or polyp bleeds.
The EXAS test detects the cancer & polyp DNA without having to bleed.
The reason the EXAS test will be used popularly is because a large percent of 50 yr. old refuse to get the Colonoscopy done! ( me included). Colonoscopy is not pleasant and the prep is worse...
If we have a simple test to screen for Colon Cancer that would be great but we do not have such a test and we have to use the EXAS test which is not painful, costs are under control and people are still dying from Colon Cancer!!!!
