Shipments of the company's mobile station modem, or MSM, chips are expected to come in the range of 163 million to 173 million units, the midpoint of which was below the consensus forecast calling for shipments around 171 million units.
The company's full revenue forecast for the quarter was $5.8 billion to $6.3 billion. Analysts were expecting revenue of about $5.9 billion for the period.
