10/22 Takedown - Retailers can't keep them in stock
I finally was able to purchase a 10/22 Takedown of my own yesterday after nearly a two month search. Here in the Northeast like many other regions these are being bought up rapidly. The Gander Mountain store where I finally was ale to purchase mine had a truck come in at 9 am and the sale clerk said at the time I made it in at 11:30 am only two were left. And as the paperwork was being done on mine, the last one was sold to the guy next to me on line. The 10/22 takedown is a nice design in a nice thought out package with a high qiality carry bag. This obviously adds to the Amazing the popularity of this already venerable classic rifle deshign, but now with greater transport capability. This is my 3rd 10/22 since 1986 and the most versatile yet.
I got mine last week from a small local gunshop. I bought the USA Shooting Team Ruger 10/22 Takedown Special Edition. I really wanted black, not blue. Oh well, I will give this to my grandson when a black one comes my way. It too is my 3rd 10/22. I have a carbine and a 20in barrell rifle..
Only problem is that here in "The People's Republic of New York we are restricted to 10 round magazines.
