At the Megasports range in Plainfield, today, there were a few dozen customers in the store, and the approximately 20 shooting lanes were all occupied. This is a big store, so the aisles appeared fairly empty, despite all the customers. Shelves appeared to be fully stocked, and the attendant said that there was no shortage of guns or ammunition. I was unable to decide whether prices were higher because of the recent shortages, because there is so much variation in pricing for the different products.
Anyway, this supply and demand situation is much different from December, when customer lines extended out the front door, and the shelves were empty.
I purchased .22 caliber and .38 caliber ammo at the Megasports range, as a pre-condition for shooting. I was required buy it there, in order to use the range. Obviously more expensive than buying ammo at Walmart.. Could not even enter the store without showing a FOID (firearms owner ID) card, which evidently other states do not require. .
Most of the murders in Cook County seem to be gang-related, prostitution, gambling, and drug-dealing. We are a hub for distribution of marijuana and cocaine......there is marijuana cultivation occurring in the suburban Forest Preserves, and the police helicopters fly overhead searching for the plants.. But as Mr. Biden says, we ordinary citizens don't really need guns, we can defend ourselves by blowing a whistle, or with a pair of scissors..
My son lives in Arizona, and the supply of ammo is the same...none! I live in "The People's Republic of NY" and ditto for here....no ammo (that anybody wants) and suppliers of firearms are not taking orders. I am really surprised that BO's home state even has a gun store with anything but boots and clothes let alone ammo1
