I missed this mornings' CNBC segment, with Arne and Ian Schraeger announcing the upcoming Edition hotels. The "clock tower" landmark hotel in New York sounds like a nice destination to visit. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Ian-Schrager-Marriott-prnews-687514415.html?x=0 Stock has been on a tear since the new year. Seems it got held back for awhile, until the "lehman-like" scenario was taken off the table. Once again, the liesure sector leading the way in the now more hopeful economic recovery.
Arne again on CNBC this morning, 10:10 CST, I think. CC is at 9:00 CST. My computer won't let me access the cc, so no notes, except for this mornings interview. Stock up 1.20 on high volume. Didn't see an update on 2013 eps, maybe this morning.
Just interviewed by Maria, as they rang the bell celebrating MAR 85th anniversary. Arne is very well spoken. He touched on the BRIC companies and Latin America "exploding", as new growth is focused there. Mentioned that occupancy is higher, allowing for more positive pricing power. Maria asked about a hike in the dividend, and Arne said they have a board meeting this week. It was a good segment. :)
