OmniVision Technologies, Inc. Message Board

  • cyclad cyclad Jul 5, 2004 6:10 PM Flag

    Good post david_lun

Tarsala is very good reporter. Wish I had read the article at the time. I think there are real problems and lots of analysts and brokerages in the know. Thus, a persistent drop in price and exhorbitant number of law suits.

This board is overly optomistic and in constant denial.

    • wow, you are so fucking dumb, first learn to spell, actually before that, look at the article's date, those shorts gt slaughtered...

    • Read the date of that CBS report. It was one year old. Whoever listened to this guy one year ago missed out a double. Whoever listened to this guy one year ago shorted the stock at $17 would no long be in business.

Read this "Growth estimates for OmniVision could come down in fiscal 2004. "

The sales growth for fiscal 2004 has exploded 110%.

Look forward, we saw some competition by MU on the still camera side. OVTI is launching new product to address that area. It is not sure whether OVTI losing shares in still cameras was a strategy move to the c-phone business or not.

One thing for sure, OVTI is protecting its c-phone share by focuing all their new chips in that segment.

Finally, whoever said OVTI is one-product company is brain-dead. OVTI's chips are in 16 different non-camera products including a fast growth security survelliance sector which turns out to be the largest third revenue stream.

Read the CC, for this year not last year.
