S&P LOWERS OPINION OF OMNIVISION TECHNOLOGIES SHARES TO SELL FROM HOLD(OVTI16.91 ** ) : Our downgrade is largely based on valuation, as the shares are trading above our 12-month target price. We believe that recent design wins and strength in mobile phone demand should help its longer-term growth prospects. However, we are concerned that increasing orders of lower-end sensors, a buildup in inventory, higher expenses to support new products, and tight supply from foundries could limit near-term growth. We maintain our 12-month target price of $16, based on our price-to-sales analysis.

Yeah like that really worked out well before didn't it?
IDIOT!!
Well, given that the stock price has gone up nearly 40% in the five weeks since S&P's downgrade, this is just one more data point illustrating that professional analysts are mere mortals who often make mistakes. Predicting the future is in most cases impossible. So I tend not to listen to people who claim to be able to predict it.

old news from May 21, 2010 (S&P)
My Scottrade S&P report shows a "HOLD" with a target of $21.00 and is an analysis by Clyde Montevergen with a date of June 2, 2010.
Is this what everybody else has?
If you want an education on Tina and Eric, take the time to read this thread. It will be quicker than trying to interpet their recent advice and revisionist drivel.
A very strange analysis. OVTI has been above their valuation target of 16 since March. Increasing inventory? As someone on the IV board pointed out, design wins and multiple OEM wins recently announced would require an inventory build. They have always had a major percentage of low end sensor sales so what is this all about? Is there any basis for this and if so, where is the full report?
Where is that fellow ericsomething. He beat me up two days ago for saying S & Ps downgrade to sell was strange. Let me clarify that. It was VERY strange. Doing the shorts and hedges bidding. As is eric.

Our gay brothers in the village often make things up...lie. Omnivision has not announced any design wins.
i wonder if s&p already knows what the coming er/cc holds for the future? thanks tina for enlightening the board.
