doing some DD here...does anyone know why there is a 37 short ratio, and 6% short on the float here?? thanks.
Fred, look back at the messages of searcher15253 on this board, for example number 4347. He has explained in detail how SEB is in a some very cyclical businesses which have had an extraordinary and unsustainable coming together of positive factors in the last 2-3 years, which have boosted earnings to levels that (he believes) won't last. See also the thorough writeup at valueinvestorsclub.com.
very helpful. though i still cant see why it is being shorted to such a degree if we are assuming a forward P/E of 14, ya know? i assume it is just a function of the float, and the large short % is exaccerbated by that. seems like slightest good news could be cause for some serious squeezing though.
shorts will take SEB to 800. They will make a killing here...
SEB, like everything else, is being affected by the overall market. It may go lower, but this isn't a short's dream.
When the market regains it's legs in a month or so, SEB will follow. Shorts are not in control of this stock by any stretch.
If they do the PE will be 4 unless something drastic happens to profit (which I don't see). Stock has shown support around 1300 when challenged. If it goes to 800 I'll buy a bunch more.
Why?
