I'm not sure why people are so focused on dividends. Would you rather have a dollar to put in the bank and earn 1%, or have LLEN invest that dollar and earn 50%? It only makes sense to issue a dividend if there is absolutely no use for the money.
Let me make this clear, so you and the company understand about dividends: when smart individuals and mutual funds invest in emerging markets and companies, we want 'rent' on our money while waiting for a crap shoot. The price of 'rent' ibid, a dividend, goes up with inflation. Right now 3-4% would be fair rent for exhange rate risk, plus market risk, plus company risk. A dividend can vary from quarter to quarter and proves to investors that insiders are not ripping off the public company, like Enron was. China is real dicey moral character country.
CYD issues a small dividend but in general small cap stocks rarely issue dividends even if they were US stocks. I agree that it would give investors great confidence in a company to do so which would lead to higher stock prices and lower cost of capital.
