That sudden increase in volume and price at 12:18PM EDT coincided with the release of a PR announcing another lawsuit. Normally, I wouldn't expect something like that to spark a 500K spike in volume and a rapid increase in price.
Here's what I think happened:
The PR from the law company caused computers that had been ignoring LLEN today suddenly saw news, looked at data about LLEN, and saw the Form 4 filing from last night for the first time.
So they mindlessly began to buy the stock.
Eventually, they lost interest and the usual algorithms that are running the stock retook control.
Of course, I could be wrong, and some other news leaked which hasn't yet made it to official channels.
it doesn't really work like that . trading algorithms take in all data in real time and factor that data immediately into their buying/selling decisions. it was just a coincidence that it popped at the same time as the lawsuit.
Sorry about the grammatical errors in the sentence about computers suddenly seeing a story about LLEN.
I noticed it after I posted the message, and of course, one can't edit Yahoo messages.
That sentence should have read something line the following:
The PR from the law company caused computers that had been ignoring LLEN today to suddenly see news, so they looked for other recent data about LLEN, and saw the Form 4 filing from last night for the first time.
