Insiders sell $1.3 Billion GME in 12 Months

Do the insiders have any shares left to dump?

I guess with 20+ retailers selling video games and a US recession insiders are not stupid:
Total buy: $16,888, total sale: $1,392,153,395, net total: $-1,392,136,507.

GME valuation of 9B vs Best Buys 19B is...laughable
GME P/E of 49 vs Best Buy 16
GME Net income of 189.90M Verses Best Buy 1.36B

    • I don't blame them. The stock has returned so much money, it is good to cash some of it in.

GME s one of the strongest stocks around. What a wonderful ppt'y to buy more today.

Oh, and you are a fool, short, or both.

      • I love the passionate support of this stock. I am dying to increase my short position. But even "fools" must have discipline.
I have not seen the passion since JSDA, CROC, HLYS etc....

        P/E = 49 (3 to 4 times its peers)
        Insiders dump = $1.39 billion
        Over building stores
Competes with Walmart, TGT and Best Buy = sucide

Competes in most competitive industry in the world: US retail.

    • Just by reading your "analysis" I think you need to go learn some basic investment concepts and take a finance 101 class. Rule #1, never compare apples with oranges. Are you kidding me that you think GME and BB are comparable? This just shows how ignorant you are about this industry.

And about insider selling. If you are going to base your trading or investment thesis on this alone. Go for it! And I would recommend you to go buy a mutual fund if that makes you sleep better at night.

      • Moron,

"Just by reading your "analysis" I think you need to go learn some basic investment concepts and take a finance 101 class."

Thank you, I have a degree in Finance and have worked in the industry.

"Rule #1, never compare apples with oranges. Are you kidding me that you think GME and BB are comparable? This just shows how ignorant you are about this industry."

        Competitors from Yahoo:
        http://finance.yahoo.com/q/co?s=GME

BBY is the best electronics retailer in the US. BBY has a very diverse product line outside of video games. But the P/E is a reasonable 16!

"And about insider selling. If you are going to base your trading or investment thesis on this alone. Go for it! And I would recommend you to go buy a mutual fund if that makes you sleep better at night."

Again, try to read past one:
        1. EXTREME insider selling in 12 months and in current quarter. Can you name any company with as high of insider selling? Even CFC and Enron had more discretion in their insider selling....
        2. EXTREMELY high P/E for a retailer: 49
        3. Excessive level of competition selling video games
        4. Sector (retail) is underperforming most are down 30-40% YTD
        5. Activision missed earnings and sector is underpressure
        6. GME is one of the most over pumped stocks on the market CNBC is non stop pumping
        7. People hate GME:
        http://consumerist.com/consumer/retail/28-confessions-of-a-gamestop-shift-supervisor-319436.php
        8. Selling used equipment and video games is UNPROFITABLE!
        http://consumerist.com/consumer/retail/28-confessions-of-a-gamestop-shift-supervisor-319436.php
        9. Recession

Earnings report is coming! We can see why the insiders dumped $1.4 billion in 12 months! Do not be surprised to see GME back to $30 - 40 on earnings.

    • Riggio still has over 8.2 million shares.

    • I am parroting the insiders you are parroting idioticy.

GME is being pumped hard by CNBC, insiders have dumped over $1.3 billion, Activision missed earning and you are stupid enough to say "Buy".

Earning are coming 20 Nov, we will see why the insiders sold over a $100 million this quarter. I guess you are smarter then the insiders.

    • I would just like to know how the longs justify the insiders selling such a huge amount of stock. It is sending up warning signs all over the internet. Insiders don't sell so much stock if they think the stock is going to double or triple in the near future. They sell because they think their stock is overvalued.

    • That is huge!!! Huge insider selling is probably the #1 bearish indicator on wall street. I am selling.

    • Great point! Thank you.

Lets see what the most informed believe:
      The GME insiders:
Total buy: $16,888, total sale: $1,392,153,395, net total: $-1,392,136,507.
      http://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1326380.htm
Most of the insiders selling in the current quarter.
No one is more informed then the insiders, they have sold $1.3 billion.

      Who is next?

    • Wow - your lack of knowledge of the video game biz is very telling.

"Selling used games, DVDs, and technology is unprofitable. I know the margins are supposed to be higher. But much of the used games and DVDs are not selling in a timely way until there is a major price reduction" - not sure where you get your information, but you are WAY off on this one.

"If selling used DVDs and video games was profitable you would see more of it. You do not see it, because it is an unprofitable from a high rent retail space." other have tried - and failed. They are trying beacuse it is a profitable business. They fail because they don;t know how to do it successfully. High rent? Most of these stores are in strip centers - low rent.

I would suggest you read posts from the informed people on this forum and not come up with junk no one buys. Ever bothrr to read the perspective of the investors, spammer?

    • It has its high p/e because it is GROWING at 3 to 4 times the other retailers. The best example is WMT in its early years. Other retailers may sell VG but GME is the only store that ONLY sells VG. Usally at lower prices. WMT is too big to keep up with the industry. They will have games priced at 59.99 where GME has already reduced the game to 39.99 or has a used game at a cheaper price. So because of the ability to keep up to date on the changes in the VG industry GME is able to give the overall lowest price for VG. They also have knowledgeable people that actually play the games and can rec to its customers which are the best games. Again you are comparing apples to grapes.

    • GME is way overvalued, it is a retailer with a P/E 3 to 4 times its competitors. Just like twenty other retailers it sells video games. It has no real advantage to justify a P/E of 48.

Selling used games, DVDs, and technology is unprofitable. I know the margins are supposed to be higher. But much of the used games and DVDs are not selling in a timely way until there is a major price reduction.

If selling used DVDs and video games was profitable you would see more of it. You do not see it, because it is an unprofitable from a high rent retail space.
