Recent experience (currently ongoing) tells me that there is big trouble developing here. If other GME customers are experiencing similar problems I would like to know about it.
I have used GameStop both online and in their box stores a few times over the years to purchase games for my son. Usually no problems.
Last week I went to the site to order a game that he wanted for his birthday and they did not have it in a new version only used. I had never order anything used in a game but since it was GameStop and they guaranteed it to work I got it.
When I received it it did not work. I sent it back and was waiting on a response from them. Today checking my banking account I find a totally new charge to my account from them for $38.14. (Not even the price of the game I purchased).
So as of this posting I am out nearly $100 bucks, no game and a charge to my account that was not only NOT authorized but when I log into my GameStop account it does not show any charge for this amount only for the 1 game that did not work.
I own the website 2oversold.com and will be writing about this (showing the documentation and bank charge) on the site as as this resolves I will be writing about the process for my readers and guest.
If anyone here has a similar experience with GameStop and has the documentation to support it I would be interested in hearing from you for future articles on this experience.
This may have been some kind of mistake. But that is not the point. The point is somehow through the GameStop site my account has been charged for something I did not authorize nor receive.
And I can assure GameStop I am the wrong person for this to happen to.
Dude Gamestop probably screwed up. Don't make this like it's some kind of conspiracy. THey are not out to screw up their whole business model by ripping off their customers like yourself 100 bucks each. Ya that sure sounds like a sustainable business plan!!!

Then why don't they just give him his money back and a free game too as an apology and a gesture of goodwill? Sounds like they're the ones making this hard, not him, with their screwing up.
GameStop shouldn't be sending out shoddy goods. Period. I bet they don't mention they do that in their sustainable business plan.
Received the replacement game today as the Returns Supervisor said I would. This one had the extra sound track. Great!
One small problem. The game does not work. Sound track fine. Game scratched across the CD and won't even load.
Guess you can expect a lot more downside. The first time could have been as you all said just one of those things. 2 times? Not a chance.
No offense but you come across as someone really hard to please. There's always a problem somewhere and every business should grovel and beg for your almighty dollar. If I opened a business, I should hope you don't patronize it because you sound like some of the customers my company's customer service department has to deal with!!!
GameStop - The conclusion article has been posted as I stated I would do. For those who had the smart remarks I can only say that if your a GameStop investor and not a trader then my concern would have mattered to you.
The economy has changed folks. Consumer spending has changed. Our spending habits and process will never be the same or at least not in our lifetimes.
Companies who see this and address the issue early can gain market share.
At the end of the day, the Consumer drives the bottom line. Investors of course know this, traders I realize don't care but then neither article was for either. The article was for our readers, the average joe consumer and investor.
What a loser... I have had Amazon make similar mistakes, but guess what? It was fixed just like I am sure Gamestop will fix it if you just let them know. You think Gamestop does this on purpose? You've been watching the X-Files again haven't you?
As for your sites, so now the 10 artsy fartsy writers/conspiracy theorist that actually come to your site and that probably still use typewriters will think Gamestop is stealing money by overcharging your visa card... oooohhhhh!!! You sure got Gamestop! :)
That is the problem. Everyone seems to think it's "No Problem". Well folks I got news for you. This is the problem. And of course I have been in contact with GameStop all along.
The first of several articles about this is now being published on our sites.
Sounds like a sleazy way to try to get hits on your web site.
I don't need the hits. I operate 11 websites all PR 3 or higher with Alexa Ranking of less than 300K on most of them.
3 of these site are professional writers sites with The Cuckleburr.com a PR3 featuring best selling authors which have been on shows like Oprah Winfrey along with CEO of companies. And for your information there are many people who read our reviews and syndicate them from our sites.
I need the hits to my site. That's a laugh. I made the point of posting my site because that site deals with the economy, the stock market and individual companies.
Oh I think you will know about my sites in a few days. And I won't need to post them here. You see my articles on all the seach engines. They will only be a google or yahoo search away.
Need the hits...That's a laugh.
