Guys, you should listen to the CES mini conference that just took place. It's available on Gamestop's web site Corporate section. Lots of interesting info - and very reassuring info. Amongst others, they have not bought shares back yet other than the 50M they had announced during the last Conf. call. Lots of dry powder left! I was also very impressed by Paul Raines.
Very Impressed. Wow, GME is focused. They have a plan. New Power up Rewards card. A lot of excellent initiatives. I'm feeling very positive for GME going forward. Paul Raines was very impressive.
Dynamics changed with Power Up regarding store growth. Raines feels that the connection to core customers thru Power Up will allow GME to retain customers who were loyal to a specfic store that might have closed by incentivizing them thru Power Up cha-ching to visit another nearest store.
From what I can tell, the Street may have had questions about the used sales growth. On this CES webcast, Paul Raines mentions that US used sales was +8.5%. This is EXCELLENT. Have not heard the reasons why the number came in at +2.5% or whatever was reported. Might have been Europe?
