Its employees are often gamers... hard core gamers that are sociable because they work in retail. Whenever I walk into Gamestop, I can ask the clerk about the latest releases. The clerk will tell me in such detail that you know they have played many of the new releases. It is that personal-experience and knowledge that allows them to easily connect with their customers and SELL more effectively.
You don't get the same level of service with Best Buy or Walmart, because its employees are also busy selling cameras, dishwashers, televisions, and musical instruments. You certainly don't get that with DLC.
Gamestop will be around for a while... generating cash and a higher stock price for investors. You can bet on it.
I'm not a gamer myself, but I love hearing stuff like that. It shows me that they have something that even their largest competitors can't match, knowledge of the products that they sell. I was drawn to this stock by the large short interest, but the more research I do, the more I like this company, with or without the short squeeze. By the way, this current rise might just be some scared shorts getting out, or we could be watching the beginning of a very large squeeze.
