The Wii U release is what GME needs. They need that more casual mass market gamer back.
MSFT and SNE especially the latter are geared towards the more hardcore gamer who will not pick up a new console until there is a decent line up vgs out.
Q 3 will suck. However you are looking at 2012 Q 4 release of Wii U and solid holiday line up. Than 1st half 2013 GTA 5 followed by 2nd half with either release of new consoles from MSFT or SNE or both.
Both MSFT and SNE have confirmed that there will be discs. GME has a larger market share since the last console launch. They are primed to take advantage of this it just will take a couple of years to play out.
