I don't think there is a problem with the fundamentals of this company . The new business model has shown a quantitative increase in the numbers . The question remains as to whether violent videogames increase gun violence and this is the sole reason for the recent selloff. And did the Conn. shooting have a real net effect on revenues for the Xmas sales season? And what about going foward? It doesn't matter what our opinions on the matter are , but rather what is he effect of the these events on GME and whether GME remains a buy.

1. Holiday sales numbers Tuesday Jan. 8. Guessing pre market.

2. Sony had a very similar patent saying they will block used games for the PS 3, and we all know how that turned out. (would post the article, however yahoo will not let anyone post links anymore)The outrage over this patent is loud and clear on game sites and even at more developer friendly sites like game biz and gamasutra. With vita performing badly i doubt sony would put themselves at such a competitive disadvantage compared to the other new systems.

3. There seems to be much less discounts and sales compared to last holiday season. The main AAA fall releases are still at full price. Usually if GME is in trouble they run the buy 2 used get 1 free. This should help the margins which is what helped them beat significantly last quarter.

4. This board sucks now that it has been taken over by trolls. At least in the past the shorts would call it the next block buster.
