Ms. Kullman Dumps Core Chemical Competency To Go SECOND RATE

DuPont Chieftess Wants the Comfort of Her Kitchen, Corn, Beans, Nutrition

    Good Morning, Bonjour, Guten Tag,

Readers, no doubt about it. Ms. Ellen Kullman sneers at two centuries of core chemical competency, what made DuPont the greatest and most powerful enterprise in the industry. She hates to smell chemicals in her labs, breathe them in our run-down plants, or spend the money to innovate or market them. To that end, she's ditching DuPont's long-time core competency in chemicals and chemical-related materials and going second rate all the way in the agricultural and nutrition arena. Trouble is she going 100% into businesses in which she is clearly second-place and inferior:

DuPont is the pronounced laggard in seeds to Monsanto, in crop protection to Syngenta (Imprelis, Tell Us!), in food additives and enzymes to Novozymes, and in retail garden and lawn products to Scotts MIRACLE-GRO. In short, Ms. Kullman is burning down the platform where DuPont was first for practically all of the 20th century, and dumping DuPont on to a foundation of mediocrity for the 21st century.

Sans chemicals, DuPont is like Daimler-Benz without cars, BASF without chemicals, J. P. Morgan without banking, Hartford without insurance, Merck without drugs, Dominion Resources without electricity, CONSOL without coal, ExxonMobil without oil, well...you get the idea.

We believe the the Kullman-amputated and dismembered DuPont is doomed. Value is simply not there when the dysfunctional DuPont goes with core incompetency.

Merely the morning comments and opinion of one individual investor and long-time student of the shrinking,
    sinking DuPont Company...funfun..
