Meruelo withdraws propoals for DG board
Whats the view on this? In my opinion, DG has either struck up a deal that satisfies Meruelo, or will pursue a more patient approach of turning around the company's bad fortunes over the next few quaters, wil Clintons support, and Meruelo has thrown in the towel,,,

Ah, clarification. Meruelo is only deferring action. LOL.

My opinion is that either a deal is imminent and DG and Clinton have convinced Meruelo not to screw it up OR there is a longer term plan to sell that they've sold him on. But something is going to happen because I don't think he would have backed off with his demands....

Meruelo wouldn't "throw in the towel." He would denounce the board publicly, if they were abandoning the sale process.
I still believe Meruelo's and Clinton's "going along" means the company is going to be sold. My guess on the initial bid amount: $14.25
Risk: The trading discount seems almost "too good to be true"....and one wonders whether that means "somebody knows something" (that no deal is going down). But I tend to think it's just that the arbs haven't been playing this name....despite the opportunity.
