It wasn't long ago (December 2011) when the weather warnings first began from the analysts, our buddy Cramer, etc, etc. Martinez was in rebuttal mode at the time, taking the position that Uggs brand sales were not dependent on weather. At a January 2012 conference, he said, to paraphrase, that "not once could he think of a meeting where the weather was discussed". Well, since then, it seems the earnings call transcripts are filled with Martinez's references to weather.
So I for one, have been having serious doubts about DECK management's credibility. Haven't given up yet, but I would agree that they better figure out how to deal with weather rather than whine about it.
