China Retail data & coldest winter in years

I don't think they'll end up like CVS or Walgreens, where you find one on every corner. They are strategically opening stores, following a plan. They also have one of the fastest ROI in doing so and have one of the highest dollars per square foot of return on that retail space. This isn't done by accident or coincidence. And when real estate comes back these stores will do even better. But you factored that into your decision making also I'm sure.

    • lol frgooy, OF COURSE hefactored all this in. The rent on these stores will go up if the economy turns...but so will sales! so its a moot point and rent is the least of DECKERS concerns. We are arguing with DUMB MONEY. The concerns are ridiculous and trivial.

      • I guess you're calling you're calling yourself 'smart money' ?? The concerns are legi and valid. Real estate will go up but doesn't mean that sales will go up. What if people got tired of Uggs and want to find an alternative ? Last year, iPhone 4 was on top of the hill but when their competitors came in, people switched and there are now more Antroid phones in the world. The iPhone shares are shrinking but the Smart phones market is still growing so you can't correlate economic upturns to increased Uggs sales. They are still in the fashion business and that is a fad. There were always cold winters before Uggs became big and people wore different shoes to stay warm. They will go to the next thing once they are tired of them. There will always be a peak but you want at least a plateau to follow, not a downhill slide.

      • Can't correlate rising rent with a growing economy either. Our GDP has been "rising" yet rents have never been cheaper across the board? Plenty of for sale. I'm not calling myself smart money, I would like to be but have not achieved the success yet to label myself as such at this time. But I do not think like Dumb Money, crying when we go down or a stock not doing what I exected; making uip scenarios where the comany doesn't do well, which can apply to any company in any industry. You don't know what you are doing here and you don;t seem to understand this business. If you are so concerned with UGS fate, then you really have no business being here except shorting, especially if you believe that Deckers top line growth won't be successful.

But I am done wasting my breath on you for now. You are Dumb Money; your concerns are trivial and can be across the board, so while you think you are bring up reasonable concerns or insights, you really are jut neurotic and not a real investor. Dumb Money.
