I remember when Under Armour was trading at this valuation 3 years ago, buyout rumors would come out every 3 months or so.
CNBC even reported on some bogus buyout rumour out of london when the stock was trading at 78 for the first time. The stock popped 3% on the bs rumor t 81 that day ah. The stock sold off 24% after that before rebounding.
One should not invest in the hopes/wishes of a buyout. One should invest based on a companies products, innovation, leadership, etc. If a buyout offer comes, it comes. But you want a company that doesn;t even need it to unlock shareholder value. The leadership will unlock it by shear execution over time.
