Why do stocks go up? Because growth initiatives are put in place and as quarter after quarter progresses and the growth initiatives become more in play and start seeing results, the company is clearly worth more and the stock rises.
Do we believe this is the last time Deckers will grow or is it quite obvious that Deckers management is just beginning to rev the engines?
Don;t be misled by CNBC and its trading mentality constantly. If you own a piece of a business and believe that the business will continue to grow and increase revenues, profits and CASH...it is foolish to sell that business just because one made some money.
If you believe the story is over and the company will not do the aid above things...then yea, it makes sense to look for a company offering better prospects.
But this engine is just beginning to rev. Do not be misled by those looking for the quick buck. The money is in the long term progression of growth and stock appreciation.
Do your own DD. But understand this is not a slot machine. You buy business for the growth. This is just beginning to grow again.
