Just listened to the CC in its entirety and I'm convinced that Management low balled the forward guidance figures. They will easily beat them for Q1 but investors don't want to wait as there are many momentum stocks that will yield a quicker returns. If you want to wait, DECK will see triple digits in the future but who knows when. IMHO
Yes they did. IMO management should be sued when they crush earnings next qtr. They already have 2 months of data so they should have a good idea of sales already. These guys have never been very friendly to their shareholders.
They were asked point blank, if the sales were looking much better than last year....and they said they were VERY comfortable with that assertion. First they said comfortable. Then they added VERY. It's a farce of guidance. Time to take advantage of panic and make money.
I would say yes, they low-balled. I am trying to figure out how they came to such low EPS and Revs with Jan and Feb in the Q1 #s, ie two of the coldests months. I know they said they are not a "cold weather company" but a "cooler weather company," but I would expect sales in Q1 to be much higher than the gudiance. However, I am a buyer if this sinks to 70 or under; otherwise I will just continue driving on with selling weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly calls for a few months to regain some losses.
Th are shamefully lowballing the numbers just as I stated they were being too conservative in their estimates for full year more than half a year ago. MUCH TOO CONSERVATIVE. Market doesn;t want to hear that SSSS. But either way, they will beat the numbers come first quarter results, but stock will only rise going into next years earnings.
Highly manipulated stock. Market maker should be investigated by the SEC.
