    Fecal Incontinence - GREAT NEWS!!

6:32AM Uroplasty: UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence issues guidance on percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation for faecal incontinence (UPI) 8.06 : Co announces that the United Kingdom's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) issued guidance on percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation for the treatment of faecal incontinence. "This NICE guidance should encourage physicians in the UK and Europe to use our Urgent PC Neuromodulation System for PTNS treatments for this often difficult-to-treat affliction. This guidance affirms the evidence that PTNS is efficacious in reducing the symptoms of faecal incontinence without major safety concerns."

    • Yes, great news for the UK. I have a question for some of the medical types. I know when a drug is approved, it can be used off label for other things. Is this true in the case of medical devices like this?

And if so, would the docs treating fecal incontinence overlap with those treating fecal incontenience? Just wondering what impact this might have on the US market, pre-approval by the FDA.
