Jack Lipton with Tech Metal Research told CNBC that it will be another two years before Molycorp or Lynas "begin producing significant quantities" of rare earth elements.
Since supply will be constricted, isn't this good news for the stock prices of rare earth miners?
Rosy Scenario has had few suitors as loyal and determined as CEOs.
In 2003 I purchased shares in Canadian Zinc Corp based on an assurance on the company's website that its Prairie View mine would open in 12 months. That sucker still has not opened.
But Lynas does not engage in hyperbole, does it? The Lynas Advanced Materials Plant is a made up name for a type of refinery known as a separation plant.
Lynas has experienced delays of one sort or another just like every other mining company. What about government permits? Do you think the new equipment and processing systems are going to work right out of the box without any bugs? Not likely.
This means the prices of the individual rare earth elements will keep rising. Take a look at the trading company, Dacha Strategic Metals. Dacha is stockpiling the actual metals.
These are outright lies ! Lynas will be producing by 3rd quarter 2011, they have said it and unless there was a "force majeur" incident like a natural disaster they cold be prosecuted if that did not stand !
MCP is the one that is behind..
Apparently Forbes also wants to mislead you. This is what Mark Mills who writes the Energy Intelligence column at Forbes says:
"For insightful, lucid and non-arm-flapping analysis and coverage of the geopolitics and geology of rare earths and China’s play in particular, I highly recommend the folks at Technology Metals Research, and long time sage Jack Lifton there."
Jack Lipton is a consultant for institutional investors. He is paid for his professional opinions.
"Educated as a physical chemist, specializing in high-temperature metallurgy, Jack was first a researcher before becoming both a marketing and manufacturing executive. Finally, he became a metal trader specializing in the field of technology metals and of rare metals."
Why would Jack Lipton lie? Wouldn't this damage his reputation? What are your qualifications?
