in a separate article today states that REE will not be as rare as you think....they talk out of both corners of their mouth. If they say LYC should be valued at $3.75, within the same day they put out the opposite comment...what is up??? Go figure!
I once heard someone say, "the first thing you learn in Journalism school is to ALWAYS present both sides of an issue. If you start out saying how REs are up-and-coming, finish up by mentioning that someone else says the opposite, or something like that." CYA
yep that's why they call it Spin. Sometimes it can be aggravating but to reduce spin do more research. Get to know more about the subject than the "journalist" and develop your own opinion. After all GS is just producing opinions too. They are not accountable for their opinions the same way we are when we click on "place trade" and execute an order. DD is vital.
Sorry but Goldman is doing a very good job.
They are calling the oil market right and they are calling Lynas right.
I am already invested in Lynas but I will up my stake.
The premise of Goldman's analysis is that companies like Lynas will change the supply balance.
Lynas has all the advantage by being ahead of the pack.
There is a big difference between light and heavy rare earth elements and the heavy is more desireable. The light ones are found in MCP in California but the heavy ones are found in Lynas so we are okay on that point. Mabye Goldman Sacks is talking about light rare earth elements as being plentiful but not the heavy ones that find the greatest application.
Some of the "rare earths" aren't that rare, but getting the ore out of the ground and processing isn't always simple. Generally, they are not really common like iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, etc. Also, they will be much less rare by 2015 and 2016 when some of these miners are finally into production.
I noticed that, it is indicative of just how confused the "experts" who cover this industry really are... They have to say something so they write, but in this case it appears the editor is just as confused... Can you spell opportunity?
