Time For LYNAS To Open Up It's Options

The ongoing game that Malaysia is playing has me convinced that it would be best for LYNAS to play the option card. Malaysian politicians hold too many of the company's marbles and too much influence over the company business. Step one is to build the Lamp expansion adjacent to the Austrailian concentrator operation instead of expanding the Malay LAMP. Malaysia's political BS has already cost LYNAS time, money and shareholder credibility. The company has bent over backwards to ensure state of the art environmental and safety in it LAMP design. The Malaysian politicians (even the supporters) give the company no credit, and treat LYNAS like a disease instead of a world class operation. Should things go south in Maylasia, the company would have an alternative up and running. Giving the Malay politicians more leverage by continuing with the LAMP expansion, makes no sense based on the past and ongoing climate there. It does not make good business sense to 'bet the company' on what has proven to be a less than receptive location.
