It is typical these days to file a GAO investigation when you lose a defense contract. As far as under bidding...so what? Oshkosh has extra manufacturing capability they'd like to fill to keep people employed and the Reuter's comments about them never having done this before, and not having suppliers, and an accident waiting to happen as the company teeters on bankruptcy -- complete crap to put it mildly and Loren Thompson should know better.
The "obscure Army buying command" he refers to is the US Army Tank & Automotive Command at the Detroit Arsenal. If he considers that to be obscure then he doesn't know squat about military ground vehicle acquisitions and shouldn't be commenting.
i wouldnt care about the losing companies filing a protest... i know that happens all the time. it is concerning that the dept of defense ordered that they stop working on the order... i dont think that happens all that often does it? I guess we'll see. I didnt have many shares, but just sold them. if this goes on until december i cant imagine that will be a positive for the stock price.
