According to the October 2010 newsletter "The SPADE Investor" (www.spadeindex.com ), Iraq will soon place a $13 billion order for U.S. defense hardware. As part of the order, I expect more than a billion dollars worth of MRAP vehicles will be part of the deal enabling the Iraqi military to patrol the countryside. In addition, the Obama adminsitration is pushing to increase export sales of military hardware to buyers around the world.
This should give the company plenty of business to get to mid-2011+ when orders for the firm's heavy non-military vehicles should begin to rebound from the massive contraction of the past two years.
PAGE 4, COLUMN 1. Doesn't refer specifically to a contract to Oshkosh but it is known that they will be buying ground vehicles. "Defense News" www.defensenews.com has been saying the same thing and this is likely the original source for the information.
