The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Message Board

    NYSE vs. NASDAQ is

just a cost cutting measure! Goodyear has a lot of debt with lower revenues coming in all year. They have been cutting cost every way possible and this move is another way of doing that. It's cheaper to list a stock on the Nasdaq and the per year fees due are also a good bit lower than a listing on the NYSE. Goodyear has sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into its new China plant without much return for their money at a time when the overseas economy (including GT sales and revenues) is down. Even though NAT is keeping GT's head above water, that is where their cost cutting focus is aimed. Cutting cost by eliminating jobs while at the same time trying to increase output (more production with less people) is GT's goal. They care nothing about their employees ( company or hourly )!!!!!!! Upper management only cuts cost so they can maintain the amount of bonuses that goes into their pockets! When the economy was strong and record sales and revenues were being made, GT never paid down debt or made allowances for a down turn. Management patted each other on the back and stuffed their pockets with bonus money saying, " When times get tough, we'll squeeze #$%$-hole-ciates a little more rather than give up our perks!!!!!! Way to GO, GO, GONE--- GOODYEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

AGREE ---- Goodyear has not been a company worth investing in for a very long time. When things are looking up, management has diarrhea of the mouth and brings the PPS DOWN. "If their brains were dynamite, they couldn't blow their noses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

      Sentiment: Sell

      • Both of you guys !! your posts are spot on ....finally some real ppl on here with some real knowledge of this poor managed company but until upper management makes some better decisions this company will continue to spiral down , this company is to top heavy and way to many bonuses are being passed out ( what kills me they get a bonus on" well we didn't lose as much as we thought we was gonna lose") they've cut labor to the bone but yet nothing (BONUSES) up top has been cut..........NUFF SAID
