    Possible Bid over this weekend?

This is just my spec..but the volume of calls is not normal.
I mean, I can understand smart holders writing calls knowing that the price will drop on ex-dividend date, BUT, why the HUGE amount of call buying?? something is going on here...some big players bought a huge amount of this stock's call in the last half an hour of trading...

If we get a buyout, any guesses at what price? (my guess is minimum $100 considering the guidance they gave and how oil price is holding up).
Good luck to all DO longs!

    • Let's get a little Perspective here.

Maybe we ought to ask the 20 folks who control 115 million shares (90% of the company)what they think, or Jim Tisch who controls 54% of the shares about a possible bid and what he would do. Look at the volume of options in this perspective. Let's face it, we all together compare to a dingy that runs into a SuperTanker. We have about as much clout and influence. It is helpful to remember this when you trade.

      • Exactly! We are nothing but a grain of sand on the beach. The big boys are in charge and we are just tagging along for the ride. No matter what game you are playing, dividend and/or appreciation, it's a good ride. I've made 43% of my yearly income in one month on this company and I still have positions in it because of its good fundamentals. I have nothing to complain about. The story of DO is good. Will see where it goes from here. Get some popcorn, grab a seat, buckle up, and hang on for the ride.

    • jeha I'm not sure what is going on but there sure was alot of activity in the last hour. I have never seen anything like it. The question I have is did they buy calls or sell them. If they sold them then the stock is going down but if they bought them this thing is getting bought out. why would they buy so much stock near the closing bell if they sold the calls? This looks like it could sky rocket. What do you think?

    • Of course the volume of calls was not normal. I think most of it was covering purchases to protect ownership of stock and be entitled to the special dividend. I wouldn't read too much into the volume today. I think it all relates to the special dividend which went ex as of the close today.

    • Jesshk go read my Tomoconnor post there is no buy out.

      Not yet anyway.
