CEO was not bluffing: TMUS+S is needed to crack the wireless duopoly

So there is no need for the Fed to find any excuses to block it.
Lots of analysts, in the duopoly pockets, have been suggesting/campaigning contrariwise.

So I doubled it up Friday at the low.

    Cheers!

    • Yes this has been playing out now for about 3 years there should be no surprises here...You need a 3rd carrier that can realistically compete with VZ and T...T-Mobile and Sprint would just slow fall apart over the next 5 years without each other.....really as Sprint has been doing for about 7 years so far.....Basically you need scale and this deal can make it happen.

Also hear a lot of concerns about the technical integration of the two companies....That may have been a bigger concern a few years ago but moving forward the migration path for the whole industry is a lot more defined in LTE and LTE Advanced....The deal should work.

      • Yeah- I'm 100% certain that if a merger were to be formally proposed, both companies would immediately switch building out compatible LTE/LTE-A networks. That way even if the merger fails they can work out some kind of network sharing partnership. Come to think of it, that might even go in the terms of the merger as a "break-up" deal, rather than forking out a huge sum of cash a la ATT.

    • I think TMUS is the Golden Calf. Very valuable. Who else beside PaPa Son of S can afford to take it over.? I don't think DISH can afford it now.
Now, the way TMUS has been growing I see it taking over others instead of being taken over Just my opinion......

    • Never going to happen
