I'd like the outcome to be whatever is best for Kinder Morgan. If Enbridge gets a pipeline to the Canadian Pacific Coast at a harbor accomodating supertankers serving Asian markets, I think K-M should get one too. Competition will ensure that Enbridge doesn't get complacent.
You're both wrong. The pipeline will get built early in the President's second term. The GOP decided to play politics with this by demanding a decision in an unreasonably short time. They knew from the get-go that more time was needed to evaluate this. Obama takes the long view and does his homework before deciding. This pipeline will last for a century. Makes sense to take a few extra months to make sure it doesn't contaminate an aquifer in ana rea that suffers from drought.
