When 1 sees a premarket trade

at well below the closing price (in this case, 293 shares at $1.38 below), one thought springs to mind:

Is this a case of a person not knowing the difference between the ex-dividend date and the payment date? In other words, does this person believe that the stock will go down by the amount of the dividend on the payment date?

In any event, it would be interesting to know the thought process of people that sell in the pre-market at well below the closing price when there has been no news of consequence.
