I will agree, times are getting tough. Keep in mind, we all need to stick together. Angola's biggest problem -- Mr Hopper -- is LONG GONE!! Who's buying the beer? Anyone who would invite you up to his office to take the bull by the horns and get "OUR" problems solved then turn on you....think about it. Steve's biggest goal was parts and profit. He as well as TENNECO could care less if you get hurt at work. I mean look at the boiler miahap. Poor Bob was yelled at for being concerned with OUR safety.
And then STEVE'S TWIN--Donna--
Miss are you sure you didn't do this at home! We all need to be writing down and having witnesses EVERY time you go to her to report an injury.
This is a plea to all Tenneco people---please become involved in your union meetings. Knowledge is power!! Go to every class offered. Please dig for information to help your working conditions. We need to stand up for one another and be witnesses for one another...document...document...document!!! Investigate FMLA, workmens comp, civil rights, rights of stewards, OSHA. I'm sure I left plenty more out...sorry. We need people to learn this stuff and bring it to ALL of the Tenneco plants...we must help one another.
UNITED WE STAND....DIVIDED WE BEG!
I hear you Brother, we have a few individuals tha fit that description, but I don't know any of the players here, I'm a long way from you guys and I'm just trying to give what I consider good advice no matter who's talking. I hope I'm helping even if it's just me putting my 2 cents in. Good Luck!
Once again its so easy to just stand in tne shadows and criticize, Are YOU READY TO STEP FORWARD OUT OF THAT SHADOW and take responsibility, or just throw darts at those that put themselves on the line?
I completely agree on the bitch nix. to answer your questions, the board did NOT decide our next pres. the U.S.W.A constitution dictates that the V.P. assumes the duties. The e-board did elect (per uswa const.) the new v.p. And how do you change things? show up at YOUR monthly meetings with ideas and whenever possible, FACTS AND ANSWERS. THANK YOU
We are U.S.W.A and there ARE informational seminars, etc. that train OFFICERS every year and throughout the year. In addition there are opportunities for the general membership. USWA structure is different than UAW or URW which 1015L was before merger. USWA appoints stewards, in the case of resignation of an elected official the E-board votes on the replacement from a list of individuals who have signed in interest. The individual you responded to has not asked anyone who is informed or done any research on their own on this topic BEFORE complaining or making accusations
