Alot of us on this board have bought GLW at very high levels as well as other stock's. It's a tough game to play but if you believe in the stock you buy just hang in there. Things will get better.

Was in reply to your post in reply to mine.
To add on to my advice on 401-K. Having been in one ever since it's inception, and retired with many others who were in, have learned some things.
My advice is: Get a financial planner to suggest where to put your funds. Best investment you can make is what a good one will charge.
If you are active invstor, and have the time, then I had a few rules concerning GLW plan and playing it for all it is worth.
Consider this: suppose joe employee decided to move 10% of his Stable to Index 500. Gets on line Sat and makes his change. Nothing happens until 4:00 Monday. If one knows rules, why not wait until say, 3:45 on Monday, and see what the S&P is doing. If it has just run up 2%, might think about waiting for another day. I know this is market timing, but no harm in knowing.

"How is advice about placing a trade at 3:59:40 not a "day trade plan". If you give advice to someone to gain a few pennies based on 20 seconds I would respectfully suggest that it is not 401(k) investing material."
It is a "Swing Trade" in my view. Day trades are usually bought and sold on a seconds notice and not usually held over night. With a fund, it is only exchanged on the end of day value. So does not matter when in the day you move, nothing happens until 4:00. So there is no reason to move until the score is 99% in. I took my S&P fund out last Wed at 939 and back in today at 917.
I do have rules. Max time in fund is 10 days. Will move out with 3% or more in 5 days or less. On day 6 through 9 will move out on any gain. Day ten, move out and take loss. I can make 30% a year doing that and have to be available to make decision for about 5 minutes per day.
Nice day at the swing trade post.
"Been retired 4 years and have GLW pesnion for 28 years service, and on SS."
I'm looking for another "it" like me, who is getting a pension so I can get the money and dump "IT", will you marry me?
I HATE YOU
have a nice day, opie
