- Current CEO came back to replace upstarts who tried to change the company into an optical company only. He is part of the original family that owned/ran Corning for nearly 150 years and has a cool, even handed approach - Large cutbacks in the failed optical fiber division have been completed or are near completion - Research and Development is one of the best in the country - Current analyst upgrades are the first in a couple of years - Cash inflow from a mature business helps with cash flow in the future while restructing takes place - From a technical point of view the stock is moving in a positive direction for the first time in about 2 years - All other Corning businesses, which are quite diverse, are doing well and are expanding.
failed optical fiber division ??? You don't know squat about Corning do you ?? Optical fiber made a lot of money for Corning and the shareholders... and will agian... The mistake was overextending during the bubble in 2000.
