    Who's to Blame?

Another example of democrat Social Engineering gone awry. Forcing lending institutions to loan money to people who have no income or intentions to repay is the democrat crime of the century.
Republicans are also to blame for not firmly standing up and shouting "Lunatics"!! McCain and a few other Republicans tried to bring this to the attention of the American people three years ago; yet no one listened, let alone acted.
Now, the very ones in charge of perpetuating this fraud on the American people are on TV telling us what needs to be done to correct it! I'm sorry, you democrats, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Frank et al, had your chance and fumbled the ball. Throw the bums out in November and elect Republicans to straighten this mess out.

    • Remember the Glass-Steagall Act passed in 1933?Instituted to prevent corrupt greed of Wall Street and bankers that caused the GreatDepression. Eliminated in 1999 by no other than that other draft dodger Phil Gramm and the neocons who controlled congress for 12 ofthe past 14 yrs., total deregulation of the banking system, no govt interference. But wait, our superlative MBA Chimp in charge, says we desperately need govt inteference, those dumb taxpayers will never notice, we can go vave our flags and repeat the pledge of allegiance mantra incessantly. How's the McSame/bush stock mkt rally doin for ya?

      • gfo99 and whoever,

Democrats just a small part of it admittedly. Both are to blame. Probably Republicans are even more to blame. I can't defend either one of them. Country will be better off when Bush is history. Yes, lets straighten out this mess if possible and get the country moving in the right direction again with some rules and regulations to make it better for the overall country and not just a few. And then lets get the guilty and at the very least disgrace them if we can't put them in jail.

      • geo,

You are right. They both stink. I blame Bush as much as anyone. Graham should be run out of the country. I hate and distrust them all. They rigged the market and whole financial system for their good old boy friends and now it is kicking them in the ass including me and you. Let's just get it straight and then go after the culprits with a vengance.

    • The only way the Democrats know how to win votes it to buy them. It no longer working for smart affluent minorities who realize that they were supposed to take the handouts and say down trodden. IMHO the Democrats would run the good ship USA aground economically before allowing another Rep. Pres. to win. This mess is coming to a crisis a little ahead of schedule- IF the market rebounds we might get back to other facts like:

Body Count: In the last six months 292 were killed (murdered) in Chicago, 221 killed in Iraq.

Senator Barack Obama, Senator Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House Majority Leader Michael Madigan, Senate Majority Leader Emil
Jones, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, and Mayor Richard Daley...

Our leadership in Illinois - ALL Democrats.

Thank them all for the combat zone in Chicago. Of course, they're all blaming each other.
Can't blame the Republicans, as they're aren't any!

Illinois State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, the worst in the country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax is 10.25%, the highest in the country.

The Chicago school system is one of the worst in the country.

This is the political culture that Senator Obama came from in Illinois.

So, he's going to "fix" Washington politics? Do we need a tax and spend fix like this?

    • You'd blame the democrats if Bush got the flu.

The republicons had the whitehouse and both houses for six years while this disaster developed. Two thirds of Americans blame the republicons and they are right. Republicon lies won't change any minds.

    • Who's to Blame? You got me by the short ones. The damn liberals, Democraps, I would think. Now we will get rules to prevent it in the future hopefully, in other words put the Democraps back on a short leash. I hate Democraps and Republicons too. Write in Paris Hilton when you go to vote.

    • wingman,

You are absolutely correct. The whole thing has been caused by mentally ill liberal democrats that are hell bent to destroy this country with their insane policies. Only this time some of them may end up either in prison or fighting for the rest of their lives to keep out. Make no mistake, somebody is going to pay for this big time. The witch hunt by the FBI has already begun. I personally wish them luck, go get um.

    • In 1997, under Clinton, Barney (chairman (the lisp) Frank, chairman of the banking committee) said that they must lower qualifications to expand home ownership in the low income community and passed legislation to indemnify insure) Fannymae and freddymac against any loss and allowed them to keep any profits, thereby insuring loss.

Lesson: Maximum - All social engineering will eventually come back to bit you in the butt, which is not looked at as a bad thing by Barney Frank.

    • "Forcing lending institutions to loan money to people who have no income or intentions to repay is the democrat crime of the century."

That pretty much sums up the beginnings of this whole despicable mess.
      Excellent observation.
